
Christmas Parade
Thanks to the sponsors, volunteers, and community, this year’s Christmas parade was a complete success. Spectators lined the streets to watch over 60 entries file through downtown, making this year one of the biggest and best parades in recent history. The Grand Marshal Elizabeth Whatley and Mayor Shawn Kennington led the parade and were followed by several floats, cars, and horses all decorated in accordance with this year’s theme: “I’ll be home for Christmas.” Bringing up the rear was Santa Clause and his helpers spreading holiday cheer to all those in attendance.
This year a contest was held for the parade entries and prizes were awarded to the best floats, cars, and golf carts. The winners were as follows:
