After an hour and a
half rain delay, the skies cleared on Tuesday May 20 and the 2nd annual
Mayor’s Cup golf tournament was a success! Rafe’s “Bailout” Motors claimed the
2010 trophy, after the team consisting of RafeGreen, Dustin Freeman, Lance
Grigsby and Jerry Haupt shot a 15 under par 57. They knocked off the defending
champions, Guaranty Bond Bank, who shot a 9 under 63 for second place this
year. Other competitors included First National Bank, Cypress Bank, Pilgrim
Bank, Luminant 1 and Luminant 2. Billy Cannon claimed closest to the pin on
hole 6 for the second year in a row with a shot of 89 inches. Jed Jackson had
the longest drive on hole 2 and the longest putt on hole 3 went to Mike DeWoody
at a distance of 28 feet 2 inches.
