FUMC Pittsburg youth and Tweens have completed 2 weeks of mission trips and all we have left is district camp at Lakeview July 9th-14th.  We are sending 22 youth and tweens to camp this summer and we need your help to finish covering the cost of camp.  Many of our kids live in households that cannot afford the $400.00 tuition, especially the households with more than 1 child.  (One of our families participating in camp is sending 4 kids, that's $1,600.)  In addition to a 12 month payment plan and The Kathy Wootten Camp Scholarship Fund we are hosting 2 more meals before camp in hopes to raise $4,000.  Please plan on attending and invite your friends.  Let us do the cooking this Sunday and Wednesday and you can do the eating!

The Pioneer Peach Queen contest kicks off July 1st with 5 area young ladies vying for the honor to claim the title of Pioneer Peach Queen for 2017.  Each contestant will be selling tickets to the Queen’s Pageant set for September 13th at the newly renovated Pittsburg High School Auditorium; they will also sell tickets to the Leaders Luncheon to be held on Thursday, September 14th at noon at the First Baptist Family Life Center; along with tickets for the pit Bar-b-que cook-off held on Saturday, September 16 from 11:00 to 1:00 on Rusk Street.  The Queen will be determined by the contestant who raises the most money from the ticket sales, fund raisers and donations to her candidacy.
